“Dr. Ramadan served as an invaluable resource in our goal of dramatically increasing the percentage of students who were reading on/above grade level through the implementation of guided reading. She implored several coaching strategies with our staff regarding the implementation of guided reading to include: meeting 1-1 with teachers to discuss their ELA data and guided reading implementation, providing quarterly professional development sessions to all teachers, modeling in our classrooms, coaching teachers in the moment as they provided instruction, observing in order to provide feedback, and meeting monthly with myself to discuss the progress with ELA data as well as guided reading implementation. It included modeling, feedback, and concrete tools I could turn around and use. Kim was also available for me when I needed support outside the times that she was at school. Many times I called and talked with her in the evenings. Additionally, I did some weekend activities with my students in which Kim volunteered to come and help me out with.”
