What Do Principals Say?

Dr. Ramadan served as an invaluable resource in our goal of dramatically increasing the percentage of students who were reading on/above grade level through the implementation of guided reading. She implored several coaching strategies with our staff regarding the implementation of guided reading to include: meeting 1-1 with teachers to discuss their ELA data and guided reading implementation, providing quarterly professional development sessions to all teachers, modeling in our classrooms, coaching teachers in the moment as they provided instruction, observing in order to provide feedback, and meeting monthly with myself to discuss the progress with ELA data as well as guided reading implementation. Dr. Ramadan is an extraordinary educator who sets herself apart from the rest in regard to her knowledge of curriculum & instruction as well as her commitment to truly making an impact.

What do Instructional Coaches Say?

As a budding instructional coach, Kim took me under her wings, and right along with her teachers, coached me through my first year! As I observed Kim plan, model, and coach, I quickly noticed how effective and practical her feedback was to her teachers. Her feedback was always strategic, researched based, and could easily be implemented in instruction by her teachers. And though she is a phenomenal coach who gets results, what I admire most about Kim is the heart she has for her teachers. She is so intentional in personalizing her support for each one and is available to them whenever they need her. And I can’t tell you how much she did the same for me! I’ve grown so much as a coach because of Kim and it was such a gift to work with her!

What do teachers say?

Kim came to me at the right time my first year teaching. She provided me with clear, practical, structures, and easy to follow support. She did not just give me something to read and telling me to go and do that. She knew that was not what I needed. By the end of the year I requested to my principal that “I need Kim again next year” and so she followed me from the very beginning till the end of my second year. I now call her my “Fairy Godmother” because she had truly helped shape me into the teacher I am becoming.

Dr. Ramadan adds value to the instruction of the teachers she works with, but also to the whole school. Every time Kim came to room she would provide me with a mini PD session. It included modeling, feedback, and concrete tools I could turn around and use. Kim was also available for me when I needed support outside the times that she was at school. Many times I called and talked with her in the evenings. Additionally, I did some weekend activities with my students in which Kim volunteered to come and help me out with.
